It seems like every time we clean out a house, there is a vacuum cleaner. Sometimes several. Most of the time they work.
Guess these will be in my next garage sale, for maybe five bucks apiece so they move fast. Gotta clear the warehouse!

Dude Where's My Lawnmower?
August 8, 2012
A lot of times when we clean out estates, EVERYTHING is left behind, which is why I have a collection of lawnmowers. I've sold some, by the nicest ones I've fixed up and we are doing lawn cuts on some vacant properties. Might as well make use of what you've got!

Unbelievable What People Discard
August 7, 2012
The Burly Guys ran across this air compressor in a pile of scrap metal a customer was discarding. Brought it back to the shop, plugged it in and it fired right up. I now have a great air compressor in my warehouse!

I Hired a Stripper Named Magic Mike
August 5, 2012
Recently bought this on evilBay. We get a lot of scrap wire from the electronics we recycle, and while its not worth it to strip small wire, large gauge wire produces a lot of copper.
When we're slow, I put one of the guys on stripper duty. I don't stuff a dollar in his belt, but I tell him he's Magic Mike for the day!

I Did NOT Find This!
August 4, 2012
I did NOT find this at a job we DIDN'T do. The estate we DIDN'T clean out did NOT have a bunch of street signs. I did NOT ask at the scrap yard and they did NOT tell me that the signs, which do NOT exist and are NOT made of aluminum, are illegal to own. Apparently there are very large fines.
If I WERE to find signs like this, what would I do with them?
Anyway, I am NOT enjoying NOT owning this sign, which is NOT hanging on the wall of my warehouse while I DON'T figure out what to do with it.
(Sigh.)

We Love Antiques
August 3, 2012
I don't know how old this dresser is, but it is obviously of much higher quality than the mass produced furniture made today.
The Salvation Army was very happy to receive it!

Anything with a Cord
August 2, 2012
E-waste is basically defined as any item with a cord that has reached the end of its useful life. Often, we scrap computers, telephone systems, transistor radios, washers and dryers, curling irons and anything else you can think of that plugs into the wall.
If you have a quantity of dead electronic items, we can often pick them up for free, depending on location and amount. Obviously, we won't drive across town for a computer printer. But if you're close enough and/or you have a large enough quantity, we will pick them up and dispose of them for you. I would especially like referrals to school systems that are changing out their computers.
The wiring in the picture is from a commercial telephone system we scrapped out.
